History, Mission and Vision
Margaretville Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital located adjacent to Route 28 in the town of Margaretville in Delaware County. The first Margaretville Hospital was established in 1931 in a two-story white farmhouse in the center of town. The present facility was opened in 1969, thanks in part to a dedicated fund-raising commitment from community residents who felt strongly that a new hospital would provide the best health protection for the surrounding rural area.
Today, Margaretville Memorial Hospital is a comprehensive rural community health system which provides a wide range of services to residents of Delaware, Greene, Ulster and Schoharie counties. In 2001, Margaretville Memorial Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center joined with Health Alliance Planning, a not-for profit charitable organization which promotes healthcare education, service, research and support throughout the region.
